On occasion life throws curveballs at you. The ones you don’t see coming are the hardest, especially when it’s far too late to dodge them.

This track came about during the dissolution of a 12 year relationship and perhaps the most difficult period of my life thus far, when everything I’d built up was falling apart around me in real time. The potency of music as a coping mechanism isn’t to be underestimated. At the time it provided a light at the end of a very dark tunnel and gave me something to look forward to in the evenings when I wasn’t subject to the much-needed distractions of work; a place to focus my energy when all hope was lost and a brief respite from painful memories and the uncertainties of the future.

It was also the track that finally saw the use of my ridiculous fluorescent pink Jem777; a guitar that takes so much space in the frequency spectrum that songs essentially need to be constructed around it from the ground up.
